The way forward in Dialogue (2003 - 2004)

In order to achieve Encounter's mission to bring parties together in dialogue around crucial issues in order to stimulate a concrete development of global responsibility, it is necessary to continue to make explicit the intrinsic relationship between the dimensions of worldview, the dialogue procedure and the issues that Encounter wishes to focus on. The way forward during 2003 and 2004 is the below mentioned total package with objectives and tasks.

1. The stimulation and co-ordination of research, publications and papers based on practical experiences at conferences and resulting from the work of the Communities of Practice.
2. The formation of international 'coalitions' through dialogue. This includes research and the development of a training program on dialogue with the objective to create a network of professional dialogue facilitators to share knowledge on dialogue and to support governments, international intergovernmental and non-governmental organization and institutions on the field of business, education, politics and spirituality.
3. Recruiting professionals who are prepared to work voluntarily for the Foundation and for the Communities of Practice.
4. Putting together an administrative report of the conference in order to meet the obligation to donors of showing how funds donated for the conference were spent.
5. Putting together a substantive conference report (proceedings) for distribution to participants and potential new contacts.
6. Locating new funds to finance the activities of the Foundation and of the Communities of Practice (research, pilots, practice of dialogue).
7. The facilitation of communication within and between the Communities of Practice through providing logistical support for meetings of the Communities of Practice (in anticipation of the next plenary conference in 2004); maintaining a website; providing assistance to the leaders of the Communities of Practice by using the "Collaborative Space" on the website and the organisation of teleconferences; building databases for the storage or accumulation of experiences of people and making these available for use. Planning and preparation for the next conference in the second half of 2004 and the search for money to realise this.
