Chinese society for future studies

The Chinese Society for Future Studies was founded in 1979 and approved by the Ministry of Civil Administration of The People's Republic of China. CSFS is part of the China Association of Science and Technology (CAST). The aim of CSFS is to study the development prospects of China and the world. To this end it will conduct research projects, develop forecasts, facilitate international exchanges, carry out technology assessments and publish future-oriented books and its official journal “Future and Development”.

CSFS has grown into a comprehensive society with 10000 individual members and more than 50 institutional members. Many famous scientists and scholars were invited or elected as advisors or leaders of CSFS including Qian Xuesen, Wang Daohan, Yu Guangyuan, Tong Dalin, Hu Ping, Yu Ruomo, Du Dagong, Li Baohen and Ma Bin. In the past CSFS have organized hundreds of meetings, symposia and conferences at domestic and international level.
